How much time have you spent on social media today? Probably more than you’d like to admit. And how much of that time has made you feel good? Probably not very much. In fact, it’s probably made you feel more anxious than anything else. As a non-social media user herself, Sarah Southwell has watched what it has done to the people around her, and she is horrified by what she has seen. In today’s episode, Sarah explains why the connections that social media platforms claim to create are not real and how they contribute to the mental health crisis that the world is currently experiencing. She presents a very compelling case for why we should remove social media from our lives entirely and find better uses for our time; calling friends, volunteering at homeless shelters, adopting pets. The list is endless! If you do choose to stay on social media, always keep in mind as you scroll through your feeds that nobody’s life is perfect.
