About Shamanism

Shamanism refers to ancient healing and spiritual traditions of indigenous peoples. From Siberia to North America, from Mongolia to Central and South America, Indonesia, and beyond, shamanism around the world varies as much as those who practice it. In all its forms, however, shamanic practices are based on these key concepts: Connection with and the honoring of nature, healing individuals and community, spirituality as a way of life, visiting sacred places, and trance or vision states.
